Int. Annette Vermette about her book: Overrepresented

Disparity in our justice system?  Author, Annette Vermette of her latest book, "Overrepresented" writes about her research as to statistically Indigenous women are arrested more frequently than those in other demographics with longer prison sentences.  Why is this?  She concludes with the possibility that Indigenous Women might be Profit Makers for the Judicial System.  Her book is causing a stir and discussion.  Can we as Canadians or as American's possibly look at what Norway is doing to help their vulnerable population to heal and then to achieve better lives.  Annette completed her Bachelor of Arts with Specialization in Indigenous Studies and also her Bachelor of Social Work.  As a Social Worker, she worked in many Northern Ontario communities as her husband worked with the Ontario Provincial Police.  She also worked at the Sudbury's, Health Sciences North Hospital.  Proud of her Metis heritage, she is currently a Professor with Nipissing University.
